98 Honda Accord Tranny Problems HELP
So as one of my DD I have a 98 Honda Accord Lx 2 dr completely stock with a Auto Tranny. A while back I was taking a summer trip back from LA to Oregon when I heard this weird noise that went on for a while and this pretty just went away shortly after. I started to notice when I put my car in reverse (auto tranny) it started to make this weird grinding sound and then it would go into gear and I could use reverse.
Well of course it got progressively worse and now when I put it in reverse all it does is grind and it will never engage. What is boggling to me is that all the other gears work perfectly no problem. I had always heard that if 1 gear goes bad it all goes. I am pretty close to taking it in and getting it checked out so I figured I would ask you guys for some help because I am sure it will be cheaper to put in a whole new tranny rather than go in to rebuild one gear as thats what I am afraid will need to happen!
Thanks guys, appreciate any words of advice.

Where is the best place to go to rebuild one of these transmissions to fix it correctly so that it wont act up again? A honda dealership or a place like ammco? I heard that the honda dealership installs some kind of fix? What is included in this fix?
