Default Tire size question

Does anyone know if 205/60-14s will fit on a 1990 Civic HB. I got some wheels, 14”X6” and am looking for tires and need to know how big I can go (within reason) on my HB.

Thanks

If you're stock height, you can fit 60's no problem. You might be getting too wide with the 205's though.

i think your info is not necessarily incorrect, but a little misleading. to clear up one thing, 205's will fit fine. I've ran them on my ef's with no problems. but saying you can run 60's no problem isn't 100% correct. the 60 isn't an exact height of the side wall it is a percentage of the width. so therefore a 205-60-14 will be wider AND taller than a 195-60-14. So in the end you just need to make sure that the side wall height is low enough to where you won't be rubbing the fender wells.

To answer the OP's question, with running that tall of a tire, you might have rubbing issues because the overall diameter of the tire/wheel combo is larger than what was on there OEM, especially if the car is lowered. OEM specs were 175-70-13. So all of that being said, running a 205 on a 14" wheel, you should get a 205-55-14 to get as close as possible to the overall diameter of OEM specs. It is still slightly larger but not by much at all.

Also running the 205-60-14, when you are traveling 60mph your speedo will actually be reading almost 63mph because of the diameter difference. with the 205-55-14 it will only be just over 1/2mph difference.
