Default Coolant shorted out the VSS - Did I blow my ECU?

Hose from the head to the heater valve blew on the head side. Found that the DAPO had replaced the OEM weatherproof connector with three naked spade connectors. So when the hose blew, hot coolant dumped into the VSS plug, shorting the connections.

Could this damage the ECU? Do I only need to replace the VSS, or should I be looking at a new ECU as well?

Any advice is appreciated.
