anyone with a dog box using stock shift linkage
I ran a stock shifter for awhile but I wouldnt recomend it. You can not tell what gear its in and it will go in any gear even the wrong one
the stock linkage works, but feels alot better with the gforce shifter, and for $1000 I call it extra insurance for our 10k+motors
well maybe I do, I have only been in the game a year! And there are a hell of alot of people running the gforce shifter. If I had years and years of experience in my car then it might my another ball game, But like I said I like the extra insurance! And feels alot better then a stock shifter. Maybe you just need to come drive my car haha

Ya sorry buddy, I was being sarcastic....... Point is.... the stock linkage will work but the gforce is the way to go.
i use stock linkage, people act like the gforce is a full proof way to not 121, you can still do it. I will get a g force in a couple of months but for now the stocker is getting it down the track.
Clayton, I'll take that Gforce off your hands for the right price! I'm with most of these other guys, I love my T1 Gforce setup, I'll never go back to stock linkage again..
If it's setup right it's golden. If it's not, you'll hate it. Clearly the one you're talking about is not setup right.
what about running a SpeedFactory Modified Shift Change Holder Assembly with a stock linkage? I've heard of a few people running them with stock linkages and dog boxes and having no problems...
i was sort of in the.....you dont need the shifter frame of mind until i drove a car with it. with a dog box, its wellll worth the investment. we have a few customers with them with stock gear boxes and they say they cant go back either.
the only complaint i have about it, which isnt the shifters fault.....is when there is engine movement from say...removing the trans, or removing the engine etc.....sometimes it doent line back up perfectly and you have to re-adjust due to the "slop" in the bolt holes for the mounts.

i usually will loosen the mounts back up and reposition the engine. i know some guys will add/remove spacers where the linkage bolts to the shifter. ive never done it that way.
Yeah, I had to readjust the linkage a couple times when I had the motor in/out. It's due to all the slop in the rear mount mostly. I built a new mount with round holes instead of oval holes and I haven't had to change it since.
yea i talked to franklin at avid about making a rear mount with perfect fitting holes with a disclaimer that if your cars all jacked up it may be a bitch to get it to fit haha
at first i was thinking it would be cool to have a threaded shifter with lock nuts for easy adjustment, but getting the mounts sorted out makes way more sense.
