Help with holograms
I finally got my Prelude back from getting some work done on it and getting completely repainted. It looks good for the most part, but theres a few problems with it.
I had to take it back shortly after I first got it back, because the hood had some weird circles in it. He said it was from the paint shrinking and it had a reaction that caused it. He rebuffed it, and they came out.
But now I have an even worse problem. Later after I got it home, I was looking at it in the sun and noticed it has HORRIBLE holograms.
Is there any way for me to get these out with a polish or something? I would hate to have it rebuffed, since it has already been buffed twice. I also don't want to take it back to him, because I'm sure he won't make it any better. He definitely did something wrong with buffing it, because along with the holograms, you can also see little scratches in the paint from the buffer, and some spots that look duller than other spots because of this. (Hard to see in the picture). Here is a pic of the holograms.

If anyone has any advice on what I can do to get rid of these, please let me know.

Yeah it definitely looks caused by the buffer. This isn't what you're going to want to hear, but he might have gone through the clear. I would have a different shop give you a second opinion, and hold him accountable if that is the case. If not, then it probably just needs some more work with polish.
That's just your typical body shop wool pad buffer trails. Easy fix...if done correctly. I say stay away from body shops and go to a good detailer that does proper paint correction. If you take it to another body shop, they will probably just glaze and fill the trails and not correct them.
Ok is there anything I can do to try and fix it with polishing it or something? Or will it have to be rebuffed for the 3rd time? I don't think he went through the clearcoat, because its still really reflective and looks fine when its cloudy out, but when its sunny you can see the holograms.
If I do have to take it to a detailer to get it fixed, will this be an expensive fix? Its just the hood and fenders where I can see the holograms.

tell your body shop you need it fixed, and tell him you're going elsewhere. those holograms are a sign of an inexperienced and/or lazy detail guy at the shop. Find someone who knows what theyre doing and send the bodyshop the bill
its an easy fix if you have a buffer and a foam polish pad and polish. i buff everyday of my life those marks are caused from him holding the wool pad on an angle. a foam pad and polish takes them out just hold it flat

So I got it rebuffed last week, and actually drove 2 hours away to a reputable detailer to get it done. They rebuffed it, then waxed it. I got it back and washed it the next day, and noticed the holograms are almost just as bad as they were before I took it there.
Is it just gonna take time for these holograms to eventually fade? I'm really starting to doubt that I will ever get them out. And I also don't wanna keep having it buffed so many times that I will start to ruin my paint.
It just sucks that I have an a really good new paint job, but its covered in holograms if it is in the sun.

sounds to me all they did was hide them with wax. they wont fade unless the clear does. if they r having that much trouble it might need to be wetsanded again. it shouldnt really take to much clear off
I'd hate to have it wetsanded again, but if thats what it takes to make them disappear I might have to have that done. Does wetsanding then buffing cost a lot more than just buffing? Because I spent $117 to get it buffed and waxed, when I was told it would for sure bring the holograms out. So I will have to call them back after the weekends over and let them know the marks are still there. They did say that if the marks come back let them know, and said sometimes it just takes times and several buffs/waxes to make them completely go away.
I wouldn't spend anymore money. Have the bodyshop do handle the costs. Your paint is getting thin now, and it looks like there's a burn in the clearcoat. Only fix for that is a repaint.
