ok about an hour ago my crx was not starting,ill turn the key and it will crank but wont run at all now 5 minutes ago i went outside and it started right up wtf.this is the second time this has happen.
NOW something i noticed when the first time this happened i was pumping gas and when i finished i put the gas cap on and i tryed starting it but it didnt.
evry time i take my gas cap off theres a pshhhhh sound coming out the tank but the times my car wouldnt start i would go take the gas cap off just to see if it makes that pshhh sound and it dosent.can this be connected to something with the fuel pump or something?

That sound is you releasing the pressure in the fuel system. That sound is normal.

More basic in nature when your car doesn't start, you should check for spark, fuel, and compression. If an engine has those three components, there's no reason why it shouldn't run. Since you're suspecting fuel as the culprit, instead of removing the gas cap try pinching the fuel line at the rail. If it's soft (compared to when the car is off) then you don't have pressure. Another way to check for fuel is to pull a spark plug and see if it's wet after you've cranked the engine a few times. A noticeable gas smell should be present as well (duh). Also when you turn the key to the on position you should be able to hear the main relay click as well as the fuel pump itself priming (sounds like a whiring noise, should be able to hear it from your normal seated position but will be clear as day if you put your ear up around the fuel tank or filler neck).

 

nope dont here no priming i had a 240 sx and everytime i put the key in the on postion i would hear it prime but never heard that sound in my crx sence iv own it(2months)

 

Sounds like it could be the main relay. They are known to produce similar problems with the no start.

 

It is your main relay. If you click the key from the on to off position a few times you will here the fuel pump come on at some point.

The relay is starting to get bad. Look in to getting a new one.
