Quick dumb question, J swap
Dad's got a 98 Accord V-6. Auto tranny is going, whole engine/tranny has almost 210k on it so he wanted to swap in a junkyard engine tranny.
Will any J swap fit in there from 98-2002 or only a certain set of years? I know the CL generations arent the same as the accord generations so I didnt know if all J swaps would fit.
Searched, couldnt find this specific data. Thanks in advance!

Are you looking to swap the engine too?
For a direct swap (no wiring issues), stick with a 98-02 Accord donor car, or possibly a 97-99 Acura 3.0 CL (1st gen). The 1st gen CL should be the same as the 98-02 Accord. 2nd gen CL's (01-03) used the 3.2L V6 (J32) and a 5 speed automatic tranny, and would likely be a chore to wire everything up.

No problem. Make sure you get some kind of warranty from the junk yard that the engine/transmission is not DOA. As you may have heard, many of the V6 transmissions have failed or have started to. One hard acceleration will tell if you the replacement trans is starting to slip (assuming all cables are adjusted properly after installation).
