Type R questions
I have a '95 Integra ~ Type R. But, I have my doubts. Half the people I have talked to about the car say it is authentic the other half say no. The friend who turned me on to this community says no, but readily admits it has more ***** than his own Acura Integra.
How can I tell for sure? I want to know, because if I ever get around to selling it (I'm not selling at the moment) I would want to know the true value of the car.

The ITR debuted in August '95 in Japan only. If you have a '95 Integra Type-R, the make would be Honda. There is no such car as a 1995 Acura Integra Type-R. The Type-R was introduced in the US market until 1997.

The Acura Integra was LHD and the type r was available from 97-01 *With the exception of 99
The Honda Integra was RHD and the type r was available from 95-01
Since you know it's Acura and it's a 95, I'm going to bet someone tried to make an ITR clone, and that's what you bought.

Hopefully you didn't pay Type-R money for a clone. However, if it's a nice car, and you paid a proper amount of money for it and you enjoy it, who cares if it's real or not? As long as you don't try to play it off as a real one
WOW worthless thread... do some research before you ask a question like this. your question could have been answered by SEARCHING for 5 minutes!
if its a 95 Acura Integra... ITS NOT AN ITR!

they manufactered type r's in 95 but they were sold as 96's. I dont think lhd itr's were available until 97. So yours is probably an rs integra.
Thank you paulMC, Tyrant, and cdntegintx, you're answers were really helpful.
The VIN # JH4DC4344SS039842. So, it's not a Type R. So, cdntegintx is probably right in saying it's an ITR clone.
I'm really sorry I'm not as cool as Dr. DC2, Todd00. I was curious, so I asked the question. I did not realize I was back in High School.

No ITR's were made before 1997 in the U.S, Canada, or European markets. Those are the only markets that have LHD vehicles. Try this site for a lot of useful info.

I seriously hope you did not buy it thinking it was.
And the people who think your car is a real Type R are complete morons.
No one is trying to be rude, but this information is so easy to find out it isn't funny. That and I don't like people who try to pass off something as something else.
