if its a 2 wire connection, then it goes to a sensor (purge solenoid i think its called) that is located on the far right corner of the intake manifold. pretty much to the right of the idle air control valve.

those are your coolant fan switch wires. the new switch is located on the thermostat housing

you're thinking of the fast idle control solenoid valve from the old engine. the new engine might have a purge control solenoid valve, but that old 2 wire connector for the ficsv is not meant to hook up to it.

i've never seen an engine where it wasn't in one spot or the other. it has to be there somewhere..

this is where it should be on the thermo housing

if you had posted this earlier in the morning i could have no problem. i dropped off my girl to visit her family for a couple days in delhi.

pretty much your going to have to do 1 of 2 things:
1. find a thermostat housing with the fan switch on it (92+ civics will have them), or
2. tap a hole and run an aftermarket switch for your fans.

then you will just need to wire it in to your loose wires.

at this point i recommend swapping in a new thermostat and gasket since you will have it opened up and need to burp the system to get all the excess air out.

and dont forget to reconnect the fan motor plug to your harness. im assuming that because its connected to an aftermarket switch the plug will be disconnected.

but yes, you should be good to go.

yep. just make sure that when it comes on its pulling air into the bay, not running in reverse pushing air out of the bay.
