ok so i got a problem....i put my aftermarket cam in my crx...all stock except cam,,,and ive sheered the key way off the stock cam gears (2).....what would cause this????

 

anyone got any idea;s?

 

is it a super aggresive cam? get a quality adjustable gear

 

its a stage 2 bisi cam....its for a race car and rules stat stock grear must be used.

 

i thought bisi cam gears where recomended?

just looked and bisi cam gears and valve prings recommended, now we know why

 

did you check piston to valve clearance? sounds to me like the pistons are hitting the valves and stopping the camshaft

 

I second this! My cuz had the same problem, he popped a key, and the was a very very slight noise to the motor, but it was really hard to figure out what it was. it finaly went away because he had grovved the pistons. im surprised it didnt bend any valves. but everything was all good

 

check cam cap torque, and make sure you havve a reputable cam gear on there. dont forget to properly degree your cam as well

 

your cam could be seizing in the head i had this happen to me on my z6. does the motor run then stop instantly?
