00' GSR A/C Problem
Okay, so I just bought the car about a month ago. The A/C is blowing pretty warm so I figured I need more refrigerant. I went and bought some R134 and I already have the air pressure gauge, so I hook it up to my low end and my PSI reads 100+ with the engine on and A/C blowing full. So I think to myself, oh ****, I guess the previous guy was dumb, I release about 80 PSI out of the low end of my A/C with a pen ( yes, a pen, a black one ) and fill up to 40 PSI, let the A/C run for a while, and it's not much colder. A wee bit but not by much. My questions are, A) What might be wrong with my car? B) How do evacuate 100% of the air in the A/C myself, safely? TY much
Not really a way to vac it out unless you have the vac equipment. If he over filled it then chances are it could have messed up the unit. I would at least take it and have a shop run a pressure test on it.
