my quest for 10s... fail
well i'll start by saying i have super bad luck! with that said i just finished up my last build and went to the track for some long needed seat time. went out last night for the second time this year and nothing good came out of this!!

check out half of the retainer in the oil passage and the keeper between the valves

all the goodies i found in the head

better luck next time i guess! FAIL...

Matt, if you decide to rebuild, make sure you CLEAN that intake manifold up REALLY well.
I was going to comment on that too. It's probably pieces of alum/metal from the broken valve or chunk of piston getting sucked into the intake manifold and then back into the engine then getting pounded. If it is foreign material causing those marks than the piston and the head combustion chamber will have the "pitting" also.

This was a super hard thing to watch (I was on the sidelines when it happened). You have the worst luck bro! I will do my best to keep you motivated on the rebuild. In case anyone is wondering he isn't giving up! He has been stronger through this whole deal than anyone would expect watching a 5k+ motor setup go down the *******. Definitely stronger than I would have been. Keep your head up bro we will get you in the 10's if it takes everything we got!
Dont let it get you down man, keep at it. I had the same exact thing happen to me in the burnout box. Destroyed my head block and turbo. I didnt give up, got everything back up and achieved my goal to run 11s on my first visit to the track. Now im shootin for 10s. So stay positive and git er done.
