Default Powerlocks intermittently works

I have a 1998 Honda Accord LX and my power locks intermittently work. I'm a bit of a novice, is troubleshooting this something I could do, if so how.

Mine do the same thing. It has to do with the age of the car.

No it has to do with parts failing haha. Not the age of the car necessarily.

Is it just one of them? It could be the lock actuator is dying in that door (~120 for the part) it could be the master control switch. I know someone had luck with Electrical Contact Cleaner and spraying it into the switches (just had crud on the contacts) I would recommend taking apart the door though before doing that.

Where is the master control switch located? I will try to clean it like you said.

The actual switch panel on the door, if you pop out that section (remove from door panel) and strip it down you can get to the contacts for the switches.

The ghetto way would be to spray it in the holes around the switches while the door is still together. You just run the risk of possibly staining the interior panels.

I thought I was the only one with that problem. well actually only my driver door works now. I have to manually open the rest of the doors for my family. I hope cleaning it will make it work again

The lock switch on the driver's side unlocks the passenger side and rarely the driver's side, so I guess the actuator is dying. Is it really $120? Why so expensive... Its not a dire issue, especially at that cost.
