coolant temperature sensor question

Icon2 coolant temperature sensor question

i just bought an obd1 gsr swap and i just noticed that the coolant temp sensor is broken. my question is can I take the sensor off my d16y7 and install it on the GSR. are they comaptible or should i just go to honda and buy it new?

Are you referring to the sensor that sends signal to your gauge (coolant sensor) or the one that sends signal to your ECU (TW sensor)? They should both be compatible as long as the thread pattern is the same. Worst case if it doesn't work then go get a new one but I'm pretty sure you can swap it out.

nevermind i got my sensors confused. from your picture its the vtec oil pressure switch. i dont think theres anything i can source from my singe cam for that seeing as its non-vtec.

didn't they have a warranty that all sesnors will be intact and working?

either way looks like you gotta get a new one. can't imagine its all that much.

no i bought it off of a private seller. the prongs are still there but the plastic around it where the connector attaches is broken off. Ill probably get a new one
