Hello All,
I'm having trouble locating torque braketts for my B series swap. I was wondering if I could use the After Market Torque Dampener in it's place. You know the one that mounts on the head somewhere?

Did you read my post? Yeah I know where they go. I stated already I dont have them.

I have a swap that I'm waiting to do its not in my car yet. The Torque Dampener does the same thing as the torque mounts I believe. They stop the back and forth torqing. Just not sure if its enough by itself.

no you dont mount that in place of the factory torque mounts. they go around where the cruise control would be (that area). try it and see if it helps at all (less wheel hop) because i was looking into these myself for the longest time because i think the engine bay looks nicer without the torque mounts. i gone through energy suspension inserts on all the bottom mounts, hasport motor mounts without the torque mounts and lastly i want to try the torque dampener so lemme know wassup when you do.

I see I need to be really really specific on this post lol.
I don't want to install the unit in the same place as the torque mounts just substitute it as function only. I know they don't bolt up where the torque mounts are, but bolt it where its supposed to be. They are made to do esentially the same thing but diff locations.
98civdx those mounts would be great just dont wanna spend that kinda money yet.
I have never seen these dampners before so I wasn't sure where you were talking about putting it or weather your pictured part was even for a Honda application. Even if you mount it on the head in the cruise control area as stated above, I cant see how that will even help; Provided you are talking about putting it where the cruise unit came out. The only structurally strong enough place to mount it would be somewhere on the frame rail. You are trying to keep your motor from "rolling" forward and backward on the right and left side mounts, that pictured dampner (if I am reading this correctly) would dampen the motor from moving side to side and unless you're rear wheel drive would do you no good. Correct me if i'm wrong.
i have one on my b18c1 swap. im using ingalls torque damper.
i would recommend having torque mounts too if you dont want your engine to move at all.
ive tried a few combinations.
innovative mounts = engine moves (twists) while revving, little vibrating.
innovative mounts + oem torque mounts = little engine movements while revving, little vibrating.
innovative mounts + avid torque mounts = no movements, but lots of vibrating.
innovative mounts + oem torque mounts + ingalls torque damper = no movement at all while revving, little vibrating. (best combo for me)

What I was actually wanting to do was use the torque dampner untill I can locate OEM torque braketts and mounts. I hear people running without them but also hear the tranny could get messed up from twisting.
