NOOO. Do not go to maaco. i used to work for them painting - your better off learning how to paint your damn self. they're going to charge you way more than $700, they'll make up some bullshit to get you to pay more and if you dont.. they wont do a good job..

Ive personally heard good and bad about MACCO. For what your needs are I would say go for it. Find reviews in your area and choose the best one. If you have the ability I would say to try and prep the car as much as you can. This takes the longest to do when painting a car, and places like MACCO don't honor that.

I plan on doing the prep work my self just a few dents here and there, I already replaced the back bumper and the OEM hood comes in next week. I only Have one bad dent from the previous owner that they try to fix and just looks like crap. That is my main concern Ill post pictures tom.

They focus on qauntity not quality. A co-worker of mine had his car painted. His car had a scuff on the bumper and rather than taking one minute to sand it down they painted right over it.

With paint, you get what you pay for

it will depend on the actual painter. if i was working there (and i knew how to paint), i would do a quality job every time. regaurdless of what the bosses say. i take pride in my work and it would show. now you might get a guy like me painting your car. or you might get a guy hung over on monday who paints just to get a paycheck and afford another weekend drinking and who dont care about the work he does or the quality of the work. you just never know. i know a guy who we used to use when i worked in the dealership. he would paint right in the parking lot and just blend new paint onto fadded areas like your faded red car. his **** looked good!! maybe you can find a guy like that. the guy i'm talkin about had his van all set up for mixing paint and spraying on site.

I got my hatch resprayed white and it came out good..u just have to remove and install ur own stuff (i.e. side moldings, weather strips, etc if u want a good job) And make sure u talk to them and tell them what u want and they will do it..if they finish and theres streaks or globs or anything point it out and they have to fix it for free...

i have customers that pay for sub-out paint work and they pay 8-12 grand!! but thats for classic rides and the paint shop also handles the bodywork. mostly dents and body pannel replacements. and they also include the media blasting, glass removal and installation, and they do one hell of a paint job. i cant tell you how badd *** the paint looks other than to tell you it looks like glass. no orange peel or raised surfaces between colors or on pinstripes. an those rides usually have the underside painted too along with the engine bay, wheel wells, etc.
dont get me wrong though, i have seen hole in the wall shops or macco do good work, but it depends on the individual painter in my opinion

true... i did the same thing too.. It came out alright, there is some minor orange peel, but overall I'm satisfied.
