Default three distibutors

ok my car is a 95 civic hatch. i recently put a b20 in it about a month ago. when i was trying to get it started when i first swapped it i had to change the dizzy out cuz i had no fire. i had a d series one laying around so i put it on and it started. about two days later i had no fire again. so i went to the junkyard pulled another d series dizzy took it home put it on and it worked.but today i took it off to put it in a buddys car (cuz he said he wanted to make sure that it was his dizzy that was bad) and when i go to put it back in my car it turns for a few seconds then i hear a pop. now my car jus clicks. my question is, could me using a single cam non vtec ecu affect the dizzy in any way??? and also will me using a d series dizzy on a b series motor put stress on the dizzy to where it will go bad???thanks in advance to anyone who replies

x2 - same wiring and internals. sounds like you have a ground issue, and most of the time the ignition control module goes bad so its always the first culprit.

Ground issue - too much current comming from an improper connection. thats the only reason you would be blowing distributors constantly. too much amperage comming through a circut. get a volt meter and start probing.
