Car will not go into gear at startup.
Hey guys,
just recently I have been having problems getting into gear at start up with my gsr. About
a week ago, the car had trouble getting into gear, I had to wait and play with the clutch
and gear for a bit until it would let me get into gear. But today it seems like it wont go into
gear at all, no matter how long i play with it. All the fluids look fine. Today I bled the clutch
fluid and it let me get into gear so i drove it around the block but then it got stuck in 2nd
gear and the problem persist.
so my questions are:
Even if my fluids look fine, could my slave/master cylinder still be messed up?
Tomorrow I will be changing the slave cylinder by myself the first time, how hard can it be
and does anyone have a step by step instructions to do it?
Also what are the size bolts holding the slave in place?
Any help will be appreciated.
Thank you all.

changing the slave cylinder takes 15 minutes maybe. i believe they are 3 17mm bolts holding it on.. unbolt it, unscrew the feed line, install the feed line on the new cylinder, align the bolt correctly, bolt it up, bleed the clutch.. sounds like alot more work than it really is... i had the same problem on my LS. the problem was when i swapped it from auto->manual, one of my friends forgot to bolt the master cylinder right and it was bending my firewall not allowing pressure.
but from the sounds of it, its your slave cylinder.
