if by eg you mean 92-95 civic then you have an obd1 ecu which only utilizes 1 oxygen sensor. previous owner probably just had a header lying around and left the 2nd o2 in there to plug up the hole.

the 2nd o2 should be position after the catalytic converter, and the wires/connector for it come through the body of the car right by where the sensor should go.

ok knowing that does it matter if i eliminate the second o2 sensor and loop the first working 02 sensor into whatever pin on the ecu the second one does to?

no that won't work. the 2nd o2 reading is looking for a change in the exhaust hydrocarbon content after its passed through the catalytic converter. if you tie the second o2 into the first o2's readings, the ecu will interpret it as the equivalent of running with no cat at all, which as you know will throw a code.

Try this. Tricks the engine into thinking the sensor is reading perfectly:

Or this for $5 instead of $55

http://forums.evolutionm.net/evo-how...ouler-how.html

or convert to OBD1 and eliminate that sensor altogether
