side molding removal
ok sounds like a neew question but i need help with proper removel of the side moldings. its a 95 civic hatch dx its been recently painted and i dont want to f u c k it up. so please can you send me to the right direction for help thanks
I have a 97 dx but they should remove the same way you actually have to pull the door panels to get to the clips you just squeeze the clips with pliers and they will pull or push right out .Its easier with two people .You will have to pull the panel behind the drivers door also to get to the rear moldings clips .Its been a while since I swapped mine for the thinner ones but its pretty easy . You just have to get to the back sides of the clips and squeeze them it can be done alone just squeeze and push them through .I cant remember how I got the front one its either from inside the front of the door area or in the wheel well I dont remember .
^^ yes, that's how you'll have to do it. The fender molding is easy to get off...just remove part of the wheel lining and you can get to it...you should be able to squeeze the clips with your fingers and pop it right out. The door, not too bad, but you'll need a pair of needle-nose pliers to get to some of them. The rear molding is a pain since you have to remove the rear side linings. Once they're out, you can get to the clips easily.

Slide the side moldings towards the front of the car, its that simple. open the driver door, push on the edge of the molding from where the door handle is. You'll feel a sudden jolt of the molding sliding, close the door so you have room to push/pull the molding towards the front of the car.
