Default Great crank... no start! my only dd plz help!

My d16z6 just shut off last night.. I was shifting into third and it just died. I checked air and fuel before giving up and walking home(luckily it wasn't more than two miles) this morning I checked for spark and there isn't any.
The yellow/black wire had 11.3 volts and a yellow/green wire going into the dizzy also had around 11 volts. I'm pretty sure it's the distributor or at the very least the coil inside.

Pics don't work. Also if you are getting no spark it is definitely the dizzy. Get another dizzy plug it in and drive the car.

what exactly are you asking. if you arent getting spark then you need to track which component ignition component is bad and replace it. it might be something in the dizzy or it might be spark plugs or wires. heres a good link to troubleshooting ignition

This forum doesn't support hyper text markup. It's also not necessary on pretty much any forum. Just wrap the direct URL in IMG tags. Also no need to use a blank target page attribute, the IMG tags post the pictures in the forum post, as shown below, you only need the blank target attribute when creating an actual link. The forum's URL tags handle the actual anchoring that would be required on a web page. Same applies to border and any other attributes. Also, as this doesn't support hyper text (HTML), you need not anchor anything, simply the raw link to the picture (or the destination reference source if you're not following).

I guess PM me if you have any questions about that, or HTML in general, or anything of that sort (I design software for a living) but in short, it's [IMG`]http://www.rawpictureimage.com/pic1.jpg[/IMG`] - without the ticks of course.

Quite simple.

The pictures:

As for your actual problem:
Sounds like it's in the distributor. It's either the ignition pack (coil), rotor is bald (no contact), or the cap leads are bald (no contact). Start by making sure all 4 wires have no spark, if they don't, then I doubt all 4 leads of the cap went bad. From there you can almost bet it's the coil as rotors don't typically just cause car death, usually breakups and warning signs first.

My money would be on coil, swap that or another dizzy in there temporarily, see if it works, you could also try another rotor right off the bat if all 4 cyl leads are dead, but I don't think that's it.

I don't typically check here, but H-T is my homepage, so PM me if you have any questions. Hope that helps ya some.

EDIT:
Didn't realize you fixed it, skipped that last post T_T.

Oh well, for future ref, it was indeed probably just the coil pack.

^^^ But I checked the coil and it was getting voltage to it.. I actually also checked the rotor and cap, cleaned the old rotor and cap, and replaced them. I thought it might be the dizzy module like I had briefly explained in an earlier post but thanks much for the info!

haha got it!
