Default 1998 Civic hatch build thread

I am new to this body style but i have been wanting one for some time now. I bought this civic last week and have driven it about 68 miles. 60 Miles was spent driving it to the painter. The car came with a gsr ecu that throws a check engine light. Ordered a CTR ecu off ebay. Sorry i do not have many before pictures because i decided to order a ton of parts to install in my free time.

List of upgrades.
Engine:
2000 Civic Si swap
RMF replica header (Narrow B header 4-1)
Ebay Cold air intake
CTR Ecu
Ebay N1 2.25" cat back exhaust
Test pipe

Interior:
Civic Si Seats, cluster

Exterior:
Civic Si wheels

Why would you run a CTR ECU on a 00 Si Engine?

What ecu can i run. Car is OBD2a and the si ecu is obd2b. I do not want to run obd1 ecu yet so this is the only ecu i can run without a check engine light

i guess. The thing is that the CTR ECU isnt for that motor either though. Its for a B16B which is higher compression, with more aggressive cams, and different timing.

Yeah your right but atleast that check engine light wont be on. It is driving me crazy. Painter still has the car. Taking him 4 days to paint it and give it back. He normally does a 3 day turn around time. But i will get more pictures up when i can

you run a obd2b ecu with a step down harness to obd2a, you definilty wont get the best performance or mpgs running the CTR ecu on your b16a2, and depending on how the install was done. you will still through a CKF check engine light as the JDM motors didnt come with them , and the B16a2s out of the SIs did.

example of harness step down

I wouldn't run either of those ecu's you bought!!! The gsr or the CTR, neither are correct, and you will "loose" performance, and drivability will be hindered.

Run either an EM1 ecu and jumper harness, or obdI a P30 ecu. Your engine will be happy

They do not make a obd2a - obd2b they make the opposite one but not the correct one for my car. I could not find it. The previous owner ran a 98 ITR ecu and there was no check engine light so he told me to find one similar. So i found a ctr ecu and it should not have a check engine light he did the swap correct. I will run this new ecu for a little while and prob end up swapping it out for a obd1 and get it tuned with chrome. But in the mean time i wanna finish everything up on my end to have a decent ride.

New pictures.
I need to find my painter some work so if you live in TN he paints a small car for 500.00 and a 4 door car for 600.00 with a clean body.

Thanks everyone. I feel the car has came a long way from when i got it. The guy was running open header. Me and a friend put the n1 catback on thursday. Took about 2.5hrs
took 1 hour to figure out how to jack it up being so low to the ground. I had to install the silencer because it was so loud
