Default B16A1 or D15B on EG hatch?

I am having a hard time choosing what engine will I install on my EG hatch. The B16A1 is not a bolt-on, but still it is a B-series engine. On the other hand, the D15B is a bolt-on on my EG hatch however, it is only SOHC unlike the B16A1. Besides, I am also planning to install a B16A2 later on, it would save me a lot if I will choose the B16A1 since most parts, if not all, are interchangable with B16A2. The D15B is a different case, I can't use everything that I will purchase for it on my B16A2 in the future. Please help me, thanks!

Well I would say the B16a1 (rrraaarrr), it's an easy choice for 160 hp , I don't know why you would swap to the a2 later on though. It's only ten more horsepower, the difference is the hydro tranny, but why waste your money on an a1 swap now?

Go witht the B16A1 or 2.They are both better then the D15B.I have a D15B in my hatch and it sucks big time so im swapping it out for a B18B.If you had to go with a SOHC then go with the D16,its a SOHC vtec and alot better then the D15B,if im not mistaken and i could be wrong but i think the D15B only has around 70hp,and the D16 has around 125.Good luck with whatever you go with.

DO NOT get a b16a1 for a 92-95...it WILL cost about the same as buying a full b16z2 swap.. Juwt save and wait a lil longer it will be better in the long run

i don't think that is the d15 he is talking about. i would assume it is the jdm d15b and if he's lucky he has the optional lsd tranny. in my oppinion (which is usually worth very little) its the best single cam ever, however; to answer the swap question. i say use the single cam, but thats just me. if you use the b series, can i buy your d15b tranny? thats if it has the lsd.

Yea use the d15b i believe he is talking about the jdm one as well, and then save for a b18c, or an b16a2 swap

I am talking about the D15B, the EFI not the carb type. The B18C1 is kinda rare here, most use it on LS/VTEC. I prefer a B16A engine either B16A1 or B16A2.

I say go B16A3. Total bolt up. Nothing to do except add knock sensor (if the ECU needs it).
