Default 98 integra. Removing upper door trim?

Does anyone know how to remove the upper door trim (black strip under window that starts cracking and looks chrome underneath) without breaking the clips? I have the door panel off and can see the clips. I tried using a screwdriver to get them loose but had no luck. Any ideas? Thanks for the help.

I think you should use the rear gun so that you can easily remove the upper door trim. I use it in my car and I easily removed it.

Working on the outside of the car use some pry tools that won't marr or scratch the paint and work them under the trim piece at the rear end of the trim piece and push the trim piece up. It will eventually POP and then you can use your hands to pull them up working from the rear to the front.

Be patient and they will pop up but they can be fustrating to deal with. It's a part that's designed to be put on... not taken off...

do this with some gloves on the under side clips are sharp.

Do try to salvage them they are about $60+ a piece from Honda. but since they are rubber coated it's sometimes the only option.
(I recently read an article in grass roots motor sports where they cover'd them in flat black gorilla tape on a mustang for a quick fix)
