I am putting this in the civic forums also since the prelude forums move so slow
Alright my DD mrs. 245K on the odometer needs help. last week it died while warming up to chauffer me to work. I started it again noticed that it was at its halfway mark on the temp let out on the clutch and psst she just died. I parked it and drove my civic to work. I worked on it this weekend cleaned the egr, cleaned the nasty gummy throttle body (which I thought either one could of been it)after driving it and noticed if I pressed in the clutch the rpms drop absurdly fast and doesn't even attempt to idle. If I start it up after dieing it will idle and occassionally die. It finally kicked a code after letting it idle numerous times after restarting. I believe I am using the right port as you may have guessed I am a novice to Preludes and Accords I am extremely handy with civics, integras, and the like though. The port I found was in the center under the radio same 2-pin used in the civics that makes the abs light go off and blinks the cel. It kicked code 4 it is obd1 and I found that to be the crank angle sensor. Does this sound like the likely culprit?

after taking off the valve cover to check my timing I see that my exhaust cam is retarded about 1 tooth +/-. Is it true that since my crank angle sensor is in my dizzy that it will trip the crank sensor code?
I can answer that, YES, the sensor is in the distrib. I have never had the top off the cams, so I can't tell you anything there. I do have a top end overhaul on mine coming in the next few months as I have 250K miles as well.
