Default offset question

Car 1999 honda prelude. OEM wheel size 16x6 1/2 +55. Using another set of tires some RSX wheels with almost identical spec. 16 x 6 1/2 +45 offset. Will I notice a difference with 10mm of offset in handling. I figured the car would feel better with the OEM wheel size with the summer tires on the OEM wheels. Any input appreciated.

rsx's use 205/55-16

99 preludes use 205/50-16

w/ the 10mm of offset and higher sidewall i would be more concerned w. rubbing first IF you are using the rsx sized tires on your prelude especially if you are lowered. the front prolly wont rub at stock height but the rear might.

in my opinion, i dont think you will see much difference in handling due to the wheel's offset difference.

if the new tires are of better performance ratings and stickier than your old tires then that is where i believe you may see the difference in handling.

sorry forgot to mention i am using the same size tire on both rims. the rsx use the summer tire, goodyear eagle f1 gs-d3. yes the prelude is lowered on koni/eibach.

the +45 offset will automatically have a wider stance than the +55, therefore in terms of handling i'm sure the +45 will feel better. and besides +45 is still way inside the fenders and will not cause any problems. i think that that +45 are a better option.

There really isn't any 'improvement' in handling by simply modifying the offset. As stated above, the tire selection is what' going to make the difference.
