I need to take off the windsheild mouldings to be able to get at some rust. I tired to take it off on my Civic a while ago and I just ended up snapping all the clips. What the proper way to do it? Do I need a special tool? Thanks!

Good luck with that. I really don't think there's a good way to do it. All the clips have broken every time I've pulled the moldings off. I think they're designed to break.

When I painted my car, I pulled the moldings off, and most of the clips broke. I ordered new clips, put the moldings back on, and they never did fit right after that. Wouldn't sit flush to the A-pillar, glass, etc.
So when I got my new windshield installed awhile back, I just forked out the $55+ per side for brand new moldings which came with all new clips. Fits 100% perfect.

glass told guy me the clips are actually supposed to sit in urethane, seemed quite retarded though but thats what he did. Probably because he wants a return customer when i mess the windshield up and the moldings have to come out again lol. At any rate, parts.com has those clips relatively cheap, and you can slide them out of the old moldings.
