Oil loss, almost a quart per 2000 miles, rear main seal? PICTURES
I am loosing oil, a quart per 2000 miles, Accord 2002, 86k miles. I lifted the car to see if any oil residue, nothing where I park. There is a little oil on the oil pan where it goes to transmission. Please see pictures. Is the rear main seal leaking? Car recently passed smoke test with flying colors, had a new PCV valve 10k miles earlier. Would seal conditioners work?

do the oil pan gasket first or at least look at the gasket area by removing the backet on the trans that is obstructing the view. my guess its the pan due to the small amount of leakage and the low miles on the car. i hate oil seal conditioners like oil leak stopper or anything like that. castrol high mileage would be my suggestion if you dont go to castrol full synthetic. if it were me i would replace the rear main seal if mine was leaking just to stay away from oil leak stopper stuff in my engines
