Default tire noise coming from the front.

This is a question regarding my 96 civic dx hatchback. At about 40mph i start hearing noise coming from the front driverside tire( it could be both) it only does it at that speed.

Is this normal?.

Do you (or a friend) have another set of tires that would fit your car? If so, you could swap them onto your car and see if it still makes the noise. If it stops, it's something having to do with the wheels or tires (possibly a defective tire); if not, it's something having to do with the car (such as a suspension problem, wheel bearing, etc).
