Default 88-91 honda civic wagon fanatics ( look here )

i love this site and has been very helpful to me. although i do not post a lot here but i do go on frequently and snoop around everday. i have a problem

i own a 1990 honda civic wagon dpfi and automatic if that would help. i just purchased it from the very first owner of the car so i am very happy.

it is throwing a obd0 code 16. i have searched and it is fuel injector error.
alot of people on honda-tech here says that usually the cause for this is a faulty main relay not sending signal to the injectors causing it to throw this code.

my car cranks but will not start.

i have tried changing the main fuel relay from a running car and it is still the same.

some people say faulty distributor will also bee likely to cause this problem. changed the distributor from a working car but still cranks no start.

i have checked compression and spark and it tests out okay.

the main relay click when i turn the key i ON position but weird thing is i do not here do fuel pump priming.

i took out the fuel return line and no fuel was dripping out.

i had an extra walbro 255 fuel pump so i decided and change it too and give it a try but its still the same.

im kind of stumped now. i poured some fuel into the throttle body and its started right up for a couple seconds then it died. atleast i know my car starts. so i narrowed it down to a fuel problem.

please any help will be greatly appreciated. im trying to keep my soon to be classic alive!
thank you!!

I would inspect the injector clips for damage, make sure they are clamped down well. Also, have the injectors cleaned and flow tested. That will be much more useful than just replacing them.

thank you. i did inspect the clips and they have no damage to them. where i live, i am very limited to resources so cleaning and flow testing will be out of the question. thank you for for your advice.

you can always send them out. I know my buddy's shop will gladly clean them and send them back to you.

i was going to say this, but its actually the alt/solenoid valve fuse #14....this was blown, and i had the same problem youre mentioning, relay clicks but no fuel pump prime, and no start, because the solenoid also has no power. this is cuz the fuse also controls the fuel system. so check that fuse if you already havnt.
