huge oil leak help
i have been searching for a while on this and found nothing so i figured id wee what everyone thinks. im not new to hondas and have built and rebuilt a few engines now however i could use some help here. i rebuilt my gsr that i had mind u before i pulled it not a single oil leak from anywhere.... but when i dropped it back in today and fired it up oil instantly started sprayin out of the back of the motor where the head and block mate.(spraying a lot) i know where the leak is coming from so i pulled the head off. the head was resurfaced even though it didnt need it and was 100 percent flat. the bottom end wasnt checked but i figured it would be ok because there was no oil leak before. all the head bolts were torqued properly and went together solid. so im trying to figure out why this did this? is there any other gaskets/o rings that go along with the headgasket that might have not of came with mine? wrong head gasket? im gonna continue to try figuring this out but any help would be much appreciated. thanks
There is a plug on the back of the head on the left side (passenger side when you look at the motor head-on.) It is the main oil passage to the motor. Check to see if it is plugged, because judging by your problem it probably isn't.
the plugs in there the only thing i did wi the head when i pulled it off was taking cams and IM out i didnt mess with anything else but that is where the oil was coming from was the back left corner looking at it head on
Are you sure it's not cracked or anything (the plug)? When I put my B16 in I didn't notice the plug was missing and I started it up and oil just sprayed everywhere.
