new alternator...squealing belt
hey i changed my alternator today. everything went really smooth until i started the car. everything works fine and it starts up good, but the belt is squealing until i rev it, then it goes away. then i would turn the headlights on, the squealing starts again till i rev it. then the heater fan, squeal rev, etc...when i put it in gear and let out the clutch same thing. the belt is in good condition and about the same tightness as with the previous alternator that didnt squeal
the question i have is...
is it the pulley? would it ruin the alt. if i spray wit some wd-40?
or should i try to get the belt even tighter then what it is now?
thanks for reading...hit me up

sounds to me like you didn't tighten it enough. If it wasn't squealing before, but is now, I would try tightening it more first. It doesn't cost anything and only takes like 10 minutes of your time if that.
ya u need to tighten that bad boy happend on my bro's crx. go find like a pry bar and push it till there is some nice tensionon it and then tighten the bolt should fix it :D
