the better question is why would do you feel the need to drive around without a hood?

no, it will create a lot more drag which will decrease fuel economy and also affects acceleration and top speed.

example, lets say your car as it sits needs 10hp to travel at 50mph on the highway. (this is hypothetical not exact facts mind you) in order to reach 100mph you would need 80hp. in order to double speed you need to increase the power.

by removing the hood and increasing drag it now might take 15hp to reach the 50mph which would require 120hp to reach 100mph. again, not exact facts, just giving a hypothetical scenario.

ive done that before, nothing happens. the intake has to be completely submerged in order to suck up water. just like using a shop vac to suck up water. and the dizzy is sealed, and water wont hurt the alt except maybe be harder on the bearings if they get wet to much

What about all your electronics? The hood also protects the components underneath it.

Such a stupid think to contemplate doing really. Of all the modifications you could think of...

Why fail? Cause its silly and pointless, and will just lead to damage. I love it when I hear, nothing will happen if I do something dumb, same kids who are here a week later saying why isn't my car starting? Well I was driving without my hood and my dizzy got wet, you think water and electritity go well together? Cause I'm confused as to why anyone in their right mind would say "nothing will happen"
