Default power windows and locks

hello every one. i have a 98 civic dx, and i wanted to know if it would be possible to take all of the parts needed from a civic with power windows and locks and put them in my dx with manual windows/locks? is there wire already ran to the doors or would i have to wire it all up? any info would be appreciated. thanks

IIRC, no wiring, but easy swap. Done it more than 10 years ago.

I'm pretty sure the wires aren't there so you would have to wire it all up. I think you should be able to swap parts, but I would only use a 2 door coupe (EX) to get the parts from. The reason I say this is because the Hatch has only 2 LONG doors and the glass area is larger on the 2dr coupe than it would be on a 4dr car. Also the 4dr car drivers master control would also have switches for the 2 back door windows you don't have.
I have the Helms shop manual & also the Helms wiring manual for civic 96-98. The wiring shouldn't be that hard I don't think. You also would have to match your interior color for the new switch pods.

The power door lock control unit is mounted inside the driver's door. The power windows control unit is an integral part of the master window power switches that mount on the driver's door.

For the windows you would need to match interior colors for the control switch "Pods" that go into the armrests on the doors. For the door locks you need both inside door panels because they have the cutouts and formed "boss" for the main door lock control lever. I suppose you might be able to "Jury-Rig" something up for the master lock switch in your door panels if you were creative and handy. I haven't tried this myself but all info is from Helms wiring manual.
