What type of wax/polish does everyone use?
I recently got some Zymol from Costco, and it's pretty good stuff. Just curious to see what everyone is using. I've also heard good things about Wizard Polish!?
Zymol is good. If you got it form Cosco I am assuming that it is the cleaner wax. The only thing about that is it doenst properly seal the paint. Zymol is a very good company I was just recomend using a pure wax as well. I usually use meguirs polish number 7 and meguirs gold class wax. Also make sure you clay bar your car every so often to remove all the contaminants. Hope this helps

If I'm really gonna detail my car here's what I use. I NEVER use an electric buffer and always use 100% cotton:
1) Wash with Dishwashing liquid (removes old wax)
2) Dry (with cotton towel and The Absorber)
3) Mother's Clay Bar
4) Meguires Gold Class Clear Coat Polish/Swirl remover
5) Eagle One Wet Look Polish
6) Zymol Wax, I used to use Meguires Carnuba which I also recommend
Note: when I rinse my car after suddsing (sp?), I use my free hand to wipe down the car while rinsing, just like washing dishes. I always rinse my car like this.

Meguiar's Gold Class...I also use their car wash soap stuff and the wheel cleaner...IMO they make some really good stuff. The wax seems to last a while too...
i use this stuff called klasse. imo it's some of the best stuff that you can get to clean your car with. i use a regular car wash, then every once and a while i will clay the car. then i clean the paint with the all-in-one cleaner and go over the tough spots to make sure they are totally clean. next comes the sealant/glaze this stuff is awesome, you put on just a tiny bit, let it sit somewhere between 1-24 hours, and then buff it off, and if you want, you can put a carnuba wax over it, but you don't really need it. kinda expensive but you don't use that much to clean the car.

what i do:
wash with dawn detergent
clay with mothers clay bar
wash with whatever car was soap i have
a swirl removeing compound (right now it's 3M perfect it)
Klasse AIO
3+ coats of Klasse SG
1 layer of wax after all this is done and then 1 layer every other weekend after i wash it.
NEVER wash your car with dishwashing detergent.
That stuff contains ammonia, which slowly eats at the paint.
Use a proper car wash detergent.

I use Zaino. My father builds antique show cars and got me hooked on the stuff. It is alot of work for an everyday driver though.

i've only had the chance to put on 1 coat because i don't have a garage to keep my car in, so by the time i get the first coat done, the sun is coming out. so i usually just through a quick coat of wax on it, and call it a day. i recently bought a huge tent to put my car under so that i can work on it, and i'll be spending a full day detailing the exterior of my car very very soon
GUYS!! I just bought the meguire's 1-2-3 system. Do I need to strip off the old wax first b4 i begin step 1? And what about the next time i want to do the 1-2-3, do i have to strip the meguire step 3 wax off first?
