Icon3 BB6 Check Engine Light, Working fine

I have a BB6 I got about 3 weeks ago, the car has 99k miles Automatic Trany, went as far as putting new shocks in and thats about it. For sure the timing belt needs to be replaced as well as the water pump/seals etc. Also needs a tune-up. The car has still worked perfectly fine. Yesterday I removed the engine cover, to get it painted. It got painted, and put everything back together same way I found everything. The next day the car worked fine until I turned it off. When I came back to turn it back on, it would start and shut off immediately. It eventually stayed on, but the check engine light came on. I drove the car to see if anything was wrong. The car ran fine until it shut off on me in the middle of the street. I turned it on after it shut off and it started right up. I got the error codes of the car and it told that its a transmission fault, transmission stuck in 4th gear, open or short circuit condition, poor electrical connection, or failed shift solenoid.......Now I used the car and everything works properly....the transmission shifts smoothly until 4th gear. When I hit 4th gear, the rpm takes forever to increase, ill give it gas and it will just drop to third then back to forth and not really go any faster on forth. Im not sure if me removing the engine cover has anything to do with that issue because it started the same day i put the engine cover back on.

^^^x2.

Save yourself the heartache and get rid of the auto tranny .

Do the manual swap or get a new car.
