Default 91 civic hatch rear speakers what?!

So im just trying to see who out there with an EF/ED hatch installed some rear speakers without using the OEM speakerpods or the jdm gathers stuff. I know people have done it, but a search only brought up millions of slightly related topics... nothing about the ef hatches. Anybody got any setups/pics of custom rear speaker installs? Or rather, any input on what size speakers? I'm trying to see if there's a clean way to cram some 6x9's in the back without hacking up my trunk lid cover thing.

Better bet is to spend your time and money on upgrading the front speakers.

There is no good way to install 6x9s in the rear of a 91 hatch, other then in a cabinet(s).

Also keep in mind you do not need rear speakers for good sound, in fact rear speakers can/will have an adverse effect on SQ, mainly the sound stage and imaging.

If you absolutely want rear speakers, install a set of 5.25"-6.5" mid-range/mid-bass drivers at the stock locations as rear fill. 94

yah thinking about going that route. I got a nice set of mbquart speakers in the front. PVI 213 speakers. Not a fan of the midbass coming from the front, and the tweeters are a little to bright for me haha. Just gotta find a nice midbass in the rear. my two 10's in the back handle the low low, but are a little overkill for what i want i guess haha.
