To, or not to paint side skirts and back? Heeeeeeelp!
Gotta make this short and sweet, but I am getting my whole car painted from an AWESOME shop next week and the man doesn't want to do the side skirts bc he says you are not suppose to paint that material that they are on my prelude, the plastic stuff. He is expecting PERFECT job to be done and doesnt want room for error but I think I have got him convinced to do them, but dont know how to do it. He says he has always refused to do it bc it never shines right or lasts as long. I HAVE to get it done though, and I need to know what is the proper way. I know sand it down, but what do you have to spray on it to make the paint adhere to it? I HAVE searched before people jump my case. I just haven's seen clear answers. I will love someone forever if they can give me a good straight answer!!
Thanks.
Here is the sides now. I have the greddy front lip that is painted now though so I want it to match.

Those skirts look like pants. Oh you mean the car?!
From what I know you sand with ~220, then 400.
Then put on base and then re-sand with 220 and 400
Clean and tack cloth
Paint (gotta use correct type)
Clear coat

Ram, go on. lol I need REAL people that know what they are talking about to comment. LOL
Seriously though, I know you paint/clear it, but can you use the same paint as we are using for the car?
