F23A5 Engine - Lower timing belt cover seals
I am in the process of replacing timing belts on a 2002 Accord. I had called the Honda dealer to see if in stock and how much. I'm shock to hear the price of one seal to cover half of the lower TB cover....$30. That $60 to completely do both side of the cover.
Does anyone have a cheaper solution to this? I'm tempted to buy rubber form at Lowe's hardware dept. for $5 and custom cut this for the lower TB cover.

if you're talking about the seal between the cover and the block/oil pump i wouldn't worry about replacing it if you can't reuse the old one. i'd venture to say that most hondas that have had the timing belt service done don't have this seal anymore.
This is the seal between the lower timing belt cover and the oil pump. The was silicone seal before that had deteriorated. So I removed all of it and cut a strip of/installed the rubber foam from Lowe's. This worked nicely, and do seal out unwanted dirt and grim from under the car into the timing belt area. The dealer can eat their high price seals.
