Default wagovan build thread

hey i have a 89 wagovan.
i plan on doing a gsr swap.
i have the head and i am getting a block this friday with spun bearings.
so i have new pistons, rods, am goona need new bearings and crank.
i also need gsr engine harness

right now i am working on the front end. i have new tie rod kit, ordered some new struts today and i am getting some new coilovers tonight.


body is pretty straight

engine bay is dirty:/

hatch needs some work but its fine

gsr head with itr valve cover

tie rod kit, will be installed when the struts get here

Looks like you have your hands full. I recommend takling theings in steps.

Look for the most needing area first and focus there then work up. On our old cars the suspension bushings and components seems to be trashed. (that was the case on my current hatch) I started there.

Good luck and keep adding tech.

whatever posessed somebody to paint it yellow!

op: you don't need/can't use a gsr harness. use the stock one that came in the car.

it will hook up to your gsr with minor modifications. that includes but is not limited to running wires for vtec solenoid,vtec pressure switch, and 4 wire o2 sensor.

if your car was dpfi to start with (only 2 injectors) then you'll need to convert it to mpfi

am i right about this..
if my vin starts with a J then its a direct import from japan right?
