swar bar question

Default swar bar question

i have a st rear swaybar for my ef. only problem is that i dont have a front swaybay. not even a stock one, so will the performace suffer because of the lack of a front sway bar?

No. Adding a front bar will bring some understeer. Unless you can find a cheap one at a junkyard, I wouldnt bother with it. It might make it feel a bit better, but in reality its just making the car push.

Yeah but having a decent-sized rear bar and NO front bar might make the car TOO tail-happy, especially during lift-throttle, whereas adding a front bar might make the car a bit more balanced.

So an oem on the front wouldn't hurt but a aftermarket one may be too much in the corners?

Entirely depends on spring rates, rear swaybar size, driver preference, tires, driving conditions, and intended use(s) of the car.

I could see skipping the front bar on track, but not while autocrossing. That is a personal preference and is not "the answer" for everyone, just me.

In other words, no easy answer here. Trial and error time, which is why starting with a cheap junkyard bar is a good start, to prevent wasting too much money if it isn't right for you.
