Is it worth it? EM1 Civic Si EBP 43xxx miles
THIS IS NOT A FOR SALE THREAD. JUST LOOKING FOR ADVISE/OPINION.
Thanks.
I found a 2000 Honda Civic Si EBP with 43xxx miles. All original/stock from interior, exterior, engine, suspension and down to the tail pipe. Owner want $6500 firm.
However, owner had the car repaint 6 years ago. Owner claimed it was keyed. Carfax check out good with no accident.
This car been sitting in his garage collecting dust for 3 years.
KBB value.
Excellent: $8090
Good: $7540
Fair: $6865
Car been in California it's whole life. His is currently the 2nd owner. Dude is probably 38+.
Test drove it yesterday. It drove straight and pull very strong. Will be going back today to do a compression test.
I don't really need another car. But I think it might worth it to save it before some ricer/kid F-it up.
Yes, I do have the money.
Yes, I do have parking/storage available.
Do I really really need another car. NO
Thanks.

I say yes em1's are getting harder and harder to find in stock form..And holding a clean title is a plus about 3 years ago i paid $5500 for a stock em1 with 93k on it but it held a salvage title so go for it in my opinion i would love to own another 99-00 SI.

your is :
- CLEAN TITLE ( NO ACCIDENTS, REPAIRS, ETC)
- 43,XXX MILES!!! THATS NOTHING

im the second owner of my EM1, the car had a little over 100k when i picked it up, was in one previous accident nothing major, other than that "spotless title" and i still paid around $5k in '04 and it was a little less than "Fair" condition.
Go for it, if youre thinking about it this much obviously you already love the car

I'm really considering saving this EM1. And it will be a nice additional to my collection of 95 Civic VX(autox), 93 Civic CX(stock), 01 Impreza 2.5RS and 85 Corolla AE86.

It sounds like an amazing deal man. If the paint job is good quality and the body is nice condition + the engine is in good shape then I can't see the problem.
Oh yeah, post some pictures of it!

I am upgrading to B18C in my EM1Autocross is fun, and the car should handle pretty good stock. There are many upgrades that can be done to improve it though
I don't expect 15's flat. Factory spec are around what... 15.7? And I'm not the best drag racer out there. AutoXing should be interesting. Guess I'll find out how a stock EM1 compare to full pre DSP civic hatchback.
Will update with later tonight. Hopefully I won't run 16's
