offset for 18x7.5 wheels?
I saw an RSX built by Mugen that was running 17x8 wheels with a 46mm offset. This might be a starting point for your friend. I am thinking about going to a 17x7.5 for my RSX with a 42-46mm offset...but I still have some more research and measurements to do.
By the way, don't take offsets too lightly...they do make a big difference on how the car handles. Since the stock Type-S handling is pretty neutral, you probably don't want to stray too much from that. The key is where the steering axis point is in the contact patch of the tire. With a 7.5 wheel (as opposed to 6.5 stock) the contact patch will be wider, so you'll want to maintain the steering axis point with an increase in wheel offset. Maybe you could find someone in your area who has experience with this (like a race-shop) to help your friend out.
