Default Nitrous: Who is running it and what is your experience?

i just installed an NOS kit on my B18 running a 50 shot. i have yet to put my a/f gauge on it. i am curious as to what everyone else's experiences have been; i.e. kit, engine, shot, and results.

i'll be posting pictures soon, please post yours if you have any.

tia!

dont waste your money on the a/f gauge unless you get a wideband o2, alsmot learned that one the hard way.
well my car has been dry fuel probs
single fogger wet also , i liked it , went 12.80 easy with no traction and no tuning
now running direct port 100+ shot . we'll see what she can do soon i gotta jet her this week and get her on the dyno

I ran a 70 shot on my old b18b for almost a year(w/ a NOS dry kit).
No problems at all.

Now I have a JDM B18c-r and I threw my kit on that, for now.
I still havent run into any problems.

My advice would be:
Make sure your kit is installed properly, take all the precautions(timing retard, colder plugs, at least 91 octane fuel), use it responsibly, and learn to read your spark plugs.

I have a nitrous express kit and been running a 50 shot since may. After 4 bottle refills, no problem at all (i don't spray a lot).

At first i was running 2 degrees of retard but my b18a was a dog off the bottle, so i switched it back to 16.

I changed my plugs for colder ones (ngk #7) and it's been running fine. Expect a new clutch soon, mine is starting to slip when i shift from 1st to 2nd, other gears are fine tho.

my brother has one that he made, so i'd like to know how it's running.

my timing is at 18 degrees, on 93 and i hear no knocking. you had fuel problems? also, i have the furl & nitrous nozzles for a 70 shot. is this too much?

your a/f wont read corerctly unless you have a wideband , cut and dry. you can try all you want , but it wont be accurate.
i ran lean as hell on the dry kit , i tried to over power it though, it wasnt worth the money in my eyes, i went wet and lvoed it . you feel alot more power when you change over.

LOL....let's see....I have a wet kit, 75 shot installed and I blew my head once, rebuilt it. Shot up again and melted a piston, lol!!! Let's just say I should've been a little more careful. When my engine was healthy, it was my vtec substitute.

My advice, just take ALL the necessary precautions .

You can run a 50 shot with just colder plugs. Some people get away with running just plugs on a 70 shot, some don't. Try it and see. Look into getting a purge kit soon, so you don't have 1000 psi of nitrous deforming your plungers after every run.

After you make a pass spraying you'll have a line full of nitrous at 1000 psi pressing on the rubber plunger inside of the nitrous solenoid. If you let it sit long enough it will cause a nipple on the plunger which can block roughly half of the nitrous flow. This is obviously a bad thing and will make your nitrous shot look as meager as VTEC kicking in on a D16z.

Ok thanks for the tip So i should ALWAYS empty my nitrous line? Never leave it full of nitrous for like 2-3 days....right? I didn't know that only the nitrous in the line could cause a stress on the solenoids (even with the bottle closed)

Yes always. I close the bottle as soon as I'm done with my run and then purge the nitrous out of it until I don't hear the "pshhhh" anymore.

14.3@101mph with the 217WHP and 202TRQ. I should be hitting 13s all day, but there are a few factors that I need to fix such as my clutch, shocks, progressive nitrous controller, and a VAFC. I'm kicking it up to a 100 shot next spring if I can get the rest of my mods done by then.

Nice!
You've got the mph, if you get perfect traction and perfect everything you'll be in the 13's all day long

Can't wait to have my set-up done too! See in my sig? It's not installed yet except for the nx kit!

The motor can take it as long as you knock your ignition timing back a degree.
