at the very least the Upper control arm, lower control arm, and trailer arm is bent way beyond repair.

You can find the rear trailing arm, control arms, drums, etc. for extremely cheap on craigslist.

Buy a rear disc brake conversion and not only will you get everything that is bent, you will also be upgrading the car, start there, I think you will be fine, looks like both lower and upper control arms are bent which is why the wheel is turned in, get a GsR rear conversion and you will be straight, bolt the bumper back on and get on with life.

A disc brake conversion will not fix the problem. It is unibody construction and he has some bent sheetmetal pushed inward where the upper arm and brake line is attached. He could have a slightly bent strut also and other things like the bearing which is not made to take an off center side hit. I had a similar hit in the right rear.

Summer 1998, 89 Civic Hatchback
I had a blowout on a highway elevated interchange, lost control, spun around and hit the back corner into the concrete sidewall of the bridge. Just as the bumper was hitting the wall the rear wheel hit the cut stone curb which is 6-8 inches high and has a sharp top edge. The wheel took the major hit and the body survived rather well. The force cut my right rear rim about 6 inches in toward the hub. Unlike your car, my wheel was bent inward at the bottom. This in turn pushed the lower arm inward and up into the spare tire well raising the wayback floor. The body shop pulled all wheel hardware outward and pushed the spare well down and gave me a decently aligned **** end without actually doing a 4 wheel alignment. Eventually the wheel bearing had to be replaced also. I had worried about that bearing but never heard anything back there. Later in 99 or 2000 when I had the CV joints done they said they could hear the bearing so I swapped it out myself and it came out in 2 pieces. I drove the car for almost 3 more years after the accident. It was rusting badly and using 1 qt.of oil every 2 weeks so when I upgraded in May of 2001 I just gave the dealer the car so I did not have the rotting carcass sitting in the yard. It would have been lucrative to part out though.

The oil usage actually started right after that accident! I bought that car new and in the 9 years and about 120k prior to the accident had to add oil only 1 time. After the accident I had to keep my eye on the oil level. In that accident I actually hit the wall with the front end also because I was spinning around but the front tow bracket saved the front end when it caught that same curb. It got bent right under the car. I must have cracked something in the front hit.

Obviously after doing the rear conversion and strut replacement i would take it to an alignment shop and see if the unibody is still true where the arms bolt to the body, as fas as the sheet metal in the rear, any body shop with a frame straightener can take care of that for a few hundred bucks, but from the pictures the body lines dont even look moved, the control arms bend easily because they are not reinforced like the unibody of the car, I am merely suggesting a way to probably fix your car and upgrade at the same time, I have a rear conversion sitting in my garage in fact. You always want to get your car aligned after a collision no matter how small, even hitting a curb a little hard can through the alignment off and eat your tires up. Hey if its not your fault take it in have it fixed and be on your way, but if it were me I would take the oppertunity to put rear disc brakes on the car.

And a new wheel bearing come on the rear disc conversion so no worries there.

you guys are effing useless ^^^^^

go to a scrap yard get a COMPLETE right rear suspension ( all control arms etc) from a unbent, unmolested, car. and install and of course get an alignment.if the unibody is a little off the alignment should correct it but i doubt the unibody is damaged. the control arms toook most of the hit by the looks of it.

get a washer and screw and bolt your bumper back up into the quarter.
and was it a hit n run?
