Default EK Swap Question

Finally pulling out the y7 from my hatch and will be installing a B16a2. It was a nice Craigslist find for $1000. Full swap minus ecu and mounts.

Anyways... I'll be running the stock SI ECU until I can get some more money for a chipped P28/s300.

On to the mounts... I do not want stock SI mounts, looking for something a little stiffer and a little nicer looking. What do you think about Drop engineering mounts?

Thanks!

I would never spend
320 dollars for those??????

60 dollar inserts work for me just fine

That's the MSRP... usually the actual price you pay from a distributor will be a little cheaper.

$60 inserts? Where? Are you talking about the ES inserts?

These??? Is that's what you are talking about, those are NOT for the motor mounts, but rather the driver/passenger/rear torque mounts.

I have checked into Innovative and Hasports, too. Tons of feedback on both of those companies throughout the forum.

Maybe I will have to be the guinea pig, huh?

Anyone else by chance? I saw that you can get different color inserts for the mounts themselves if you don't like the green.

After talking about with a buddy of mine, he reminded me about a year or so ago he ordered Hasports for his EG, they sent him the wrong part twice! Eventually, they did get it right. If anything, I would be staying away from them. Caused my buddy an additional month of downtime.

not they are not.. my friend had some with a built b20vtec motor and the bushings already gave out after about a year or two..

I had my hasport billet mounts for about 5 years already.. still good and it been through so many swaps

Like I said, I will be staying away from Hasport as my buddy had a really bad experience with them which I would rather not go through.

If Innovative/Hasport/Drop are all offering lifetime warranties, that shouldn't be a concern when making my decision. I'm sure all of them offer great customer service. Anyone have comments on that?

Show me what you are talking about. I was unaware you could get inserts for the hydraulic driver's side mount in an EK. I think you have engine mounts confused with the torque mounts that ES supplies inserts for.

staying away from a company that has a great following for a reason because one buddy had a little issue is a little childish. but if you won't solely on that go innovative or drop.
