OK i bought this car with all these modifications done to it. It needs work but so far i Have an AIR INTAKE and SPIDER EXHAUST. I think those are the only two Performance jobs done to it. How can i make it faster?! without buying anything or if i do have to buy something what?! but it has to be cheap

hmm turbo. can do it for about 600. low boost so you don't blow it up and still run stock internals since you want cheap. or save money...lots and lots of money and make a nice faster civic. lots of research and you'll get your answer.

 

You're going to get flamed to ****, you may want to ask an admin to lock this post. People aren't exactly happy to answer questions asked 9 out of 10 times by newbs. These questions have been asked 1000's of times and are all over the forums, there's a search button, 4th menu in on the top gray bar.

As for your question:
Nothing.

As many people will tell you amongst the 4cyl import world, you can have 2 out of 3 - cheap, fast, reliable - but you won't have the 3rd.

The only other thing you can realistically do is put a header on it, that way you have regular I/H/E (Intake/Header/Exhaust). All in all those 3 parts will probably get you 5 more hp at the ground (if that). There's NOTHING besides weight reduction you can do without buying anything to make it faster. If you want it faster, start pulling **** out of it - don't wanna carry passengers, take all the other seats out, don't care if it's absurdly loud on the highway, rip out the sound deadening car - but that requries you to rip out most of the interior.

Anyways, it won't be that much faster, if you want to make it faster you realistically got two options: A) Swap the motor for something bigger and/or faster, B) Turbocharge that D16. Neither is cheap. I'm sorry, you were probably expecting more, but unfortunately that's all there is to it.

 

99% of tuners will NOT get a fully functional turbo setup (without pre-existing parts) in their car, tuned, running, etc. for 600 - most won't get it done for under 1g. And please don't direct me to homemadeturbo.com - the percentage of people doing cheap/half assed turbo builds for under a grand is a lot less than those doing it for over a grand.

 

If you dont plan on investing on the car then there is no point in trying to make it faster with out throwing cash at it. Leave the car how it is, save money for a year or so, comeback to honda-tech, make a thread saying you have 8k to spend on your car and then you might get better answers than these.

oh i know. haha i would not point you in that direction. im just trying to work with his cheap and when it blows 2 months later its cuz he spent 600 instead of the 2k+ he should have. and i will be fair i don't know turbos more then i have too. i like the way NA is and thats where i stay.

reason why i put 8k is due to my type R swap been 4000 and the build was 4200, head and block. Op there is nothing you can do to your car that will make it faster with out adding major mods. You can ad a turbo, or you can even juice the **** but its not going to last. And you might get what 180hp?

 

yea thats why i had to throw in swap. at first i looked at 8k and thought you could finish a car with a good motor already in it for that.

Dont be cheap. Save up and swap if you want a faster car.

 

easy. see that fuel pressure regulator... unhook the vacuum line, and t that vacuum line into the small coolant line that runs from the head to the intake manifold.... then you basically have a free methanol injection system..... just make sure you got that resevoir full all the time

I think the pieced together turbo kit i built cost almost 2k+ for everything when it was all said and done, and that's before a tune. Never heard of spider either. but since your so cheap and want a siqq fast car here you go boss

the most hp gain you will get for the absolute cheapest price is the NOS sticker,, it'll add 50hp to your civic for about $2.99 shipped to your door..

 

Nos sticker is now available at wal mart too i saw it there when i was buying oil haha.

intake, header, exhaust, cam(S), thats pretty much it since you're trying to ball on a budget.

 

take the slack out of the throttle cable and it'll feel more responsive

8k? what kind of a dumbass number is that? My car is built and boosted for half that. Turbo D FTW.

But if you want to go a bit faster without spending much money you can get : E3 Diamondfire Spark plugs, Port matched Y8 Intake Manifold, Header, Heat Shielding Intake Manifold Gasket, Throttle Body Coolant Bypass.

And you get more than 5HP from I/H/E. Import tuner just tested a D16 last month, they put on I/H/E and got 12WHP.
