Default 2000 Honda accord EX idle prob

Hey, this has only happened twice, and about a month apart from each other. When i start my car, it starts normal.. but within the first 3 seconds the rpms will drop pass 750k where it idles, and dim down to almost 0 car idles really rough... and all my lights are on, I.E. door , brake lamp, SRS, check engire, oil change... ect..

Now the first time this happened, my car would stall and just be shut off, without me shutting it off. This happened 4 times of me trying to start it back to back. waiting about 20 second after each time... so i called my friend to come pick me up.. well he gets there, and it starts up... idles rough, but sets its self, and then is just completetly fnie... only difference is, when i idled my RPM needle would just bob up and down VERY SLIGHTLY.

Month later, it happened again... but this time my car DID NOT STALL... and acted like it fixed its self.. idled VERY rough for about 10-20 seconds, getting better, and better longer i waited, till eventually, it was back to normal.

Any ideas? I'm currently about to clean out my IAVC see if that helps, mech minded friend of mine said that could be the problem.. but its hard to diagnose these problems at a dealer, cause well.. it happens randomly, and to far spread out.

Any help would be much appreciated. :D

tough to say. how many miles? my guess would be that you need a tune up. like a 100k service maybe. sound like the fuel pump may be to blame too. it could be getting bad and not putting out the proper fuel flow or pressure. it could be just a clogged fuel filter. how many miles you got first? and wat kinda maintenance have you done? or had done? lets gat a history of the car to help

110k right now, had it tuned up once at around... 45k if i remember correctly. Everything is still stock and in good condition it seems but - Replaced spark plugs(2 weeks ago), belt(at 75k), back bearings(about 100k started to make noise), front bearings(just changed them with the back) and water pump(at 75k with the belt). Routine oil changes, ect.

Nothing major has really every happened to car, and i don't know if i'd call this major, haha. Since it RARELY happens. Like today, i ran around alot of errands. Car was perfect, needle wasnt even bumping up and down from 750 to about 800 RPMs

i would change the fuel filter and check the fuel pressure with a gauge set. your fuel filter is overdue, but the rest of the car sounds good. i work on peoples cars and they dont ever want to spend extra money...then the timing belt breaks and i'm the bad guy. go figure huh. but the fuel filter may be to blame. heres another idea that i have ran across...i did a car with issues like this. i pulled the fuel pump and there was a piece of aluminum (off one of those fuel injector cleaner bottles that you add to your fuel tank) jammed in the fuel pick-up. removed it and it worked fine. maybe this has happened to your car. you only get fuel cut out when the foil piece gets on the pick up. you turn it off killing the vacuum of the pump and the foil is released

Alright, luckily my dad has a mechanic friend (25+ years) who can look at it. I'll have him check the fuel filter and see if anything is abnormal about it ( or in it haha )

And ya i know what you mean, mechanics get crap all the time don't they?
