you dont need to remove anything to get a brand new key. go to the honda dealership with proof of ownership, they can cut a new key from a code somewhere , maybe the vin number. Plus it will be new and not rounded off like a 20 year old key. BTW i've done this, it just takes about 15 minutes too.
Is your broken key still in the lock?

Well it was stuck in the lock lol but i got it out using two bobby pins. Proof of ownership, Like the title to the car under my name? This guy at the key place at walmart told me the same thing but I thought he was bs cus he didnt wanna make another key for me. so all they need is the vin and year to make another key? Thanks
yeah the title should work, but you could call and ask them first. i forget what code they use, probably the vin #.
and I would be supprised if walmart can make you a new key, but maybe they can.
Do you have a honda dealer near by? they can do it for sure.

The title is what they are looking for. They have to look the code up by using the vin number.
It must be a honda, or acura dealership. (if you go to acura your going to get a key that says acura on it

well I'm not sure, call the dealer and ask. I know you can get a new key/lock set. you could also swap the passenger side to the driver side or even remove them completely ( using rear door handles from a 4 door) and install remote power locks. but you'll have to crawl through the trunk if your battery dies, ha ha.
crxxor and miguey...look a couple of posts up.
Hushy, most dealers can "code" a lock. You would have to buy the lock cylinder for that door and have someone at the dealer code it. I imagine there are some dealerships that don't have someone qualified to do this so call first.

all they ask for was 'proof of ownership' Title and a picture ID or Drivers license. All they need for the key is the VIN#. He said the oldest year they might be able to make a key for using the VIN# is an '89 anything older than that they will need a code off one of the lock cylinders like how Creator said up there ^
