Hi everyone,
I am looking for everyones recommendation on a good brand fuel filter for my 96 accord EX...
This may seem like an odd question because most people would just buy whatever is cheap and available, but I am a bit **** about this sort of thing...
I am lightly modded for now so I don't really need any high-flow fuel filter, but obviously I don't want anything too restrictive , or something that will gum up quickly for that matter.
I use the accord in Trinidad and Tobago, and for a country that produces our own gas and exports, we really have bad quality.. so filters tend to require changing more often..
Anyway, what would be the recommendations for best price vs quality..
Thanks

I have found that ordering from places like this http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/ is very competitive with, say, http://www.autozone.com/autozone/. The underhood filter is not much more than a screen...Most of the filtering happens in-tank at the sock.

Good point, I have checked out majestic honda and the pricing seems about in-line with the big stores.....
Thats the thing, can I do anything about the in-tank filter because I am convinced its probably full of stuff from the crap fuel...
If not, all I can do is change the underhood then..

Well, doubt that is an option right now unless I have some pump issues...
So I guess its back to filter reccomendations... Normally I'm a purolator lover, but at the same price as OEM, how would the two compare?

I say go with the OEM. I have no technical micron vs micron specs to compare. Just the fact that the OEM worked great in my car for over 8 years before I swapped it out. Still never saw any dirt in the injector screens or problems with clogged injectors ether.

Thanks, have any of you ever used an OBX high flow fuel filter?
I have heard of the brand but never had any experience with their products...

they are pretty much the same filter as the aem and use the same cartridge a fram. i would actually go that route since the cartridges are only $6 to replace and you say you replace yours often.

Just wondering, but if they are the same cartridge as fram then why isnt fram also considered "high flow"...
I also wish they made it in just black.. not ricey colours like blue and red.. I guess silver for it if anything
PS. I was in elkhart just a few months ago driving about, my sis goes to ND

the part # they give you for the cartridge is actally for a oil filter off a bike but it fits perfectly fram never used it as a fuel filter thats the only difference but works i have the aem one in my car cause it matchs the my fuel rail i think aem makes a black one not sure.
yea elkhart is nice but im actually living in chicago erea right now cause of college..
